Bouchon- Yountville, CA

February 5, 2017February 5, 2017Nadia1449 views

Bouchon is one of Chef Thomas Keller’s gems in Napa Valley! Located in Yountville, aka the “foodie section of Napa,” this restaurant hits the spot to give you a totally amazing foodie experience! Built four years after Keller’s fine dining restaurant French Laundry, Bouchon quickly turned in to another Keller hit receiving many awards and accolades. Yountville is full of amazing restaurants, so it can be hard to choose, but Bouchon is definitely a can’t miss!

Bouchon is small, intimate, and perfectly crafted. From the moment you walk in, you feel like you stepped in to a little restaurant off the cobblestone path in France. The lights are dim, adding to the restaurant’s ambiance and allure. The table’s are close together, but this does not take away from the awesome food experience that you are about to embark on. We started with a bottle of the Chappellet Cabernet Sauvignon.

escargot

The house bread from the bakery is served when you are seated. Bouchon Bakery is fantastic, and this is where the bread is brought in from. The bread is so delicious and addicting. I had to make a conscious effort to stop eating it, but make sure you try atleast a nibble if that’s even possible. For an appetizer, we got the escargot. Wow, best escargot I have ever had. The Burgundy snails are perfectly cooked in a parsley-garlic butter combination and topped with small pastry puffs, again from Bouchon Bakery. What an awesome appetizer! I highly recommend it.

Croque Madame

For entrees, we had the croque madame and the braised lamb special, two totally different dishes both executed to the highest level. The lamb was so tender, it melted in my mouth. Absolutely delicious! The croque madame was picture perfect and delicious as well. I love a good mornay sauce, and Keller nails it.

For dessert, the profiteroles are amazing. If you’re not too inclined for dessert, go next door to Bouchon Bakery and get some treats for later. The macaroons are amazing as well as the scones and croissants! Don’t want to get too off topic here since this highlight piece is on Bouch0n Bistro, however Bouchon Bakery is worth the mention, and I’m sure Thomas Keller wouldn’t mind me touting it! 😉

Customer Service is very good and prompt considering how busy the restaurant gets. Don’t forget to make a reservation, especially for dinner, since the restaurant is small and fills up quickly! Go check out Bouchon next time you’re in Napa and enjoy! Salute!
