Teak- Red Bank, NJ

Trendy atmosphere, Asian-fusion food, and awesome drinks; Teak is one of the most well-rounded spots in Red Bank! If you’re a sushi lover, this place is for you. Plus, half off Mondays, what is there not to like here?
If you like Thai, Chinese, Japanese, or just sushi, Teak hits the spot. I have been here many times as well and enjoy it each time. My inner alcoholic wants to start off with the drinks as usual. The white sangria here is really crisp and refreshing. I love it. The mango mai tai is also delicious! Their cocktails are strong and very good and their wine list is an adequate size.
For food, I will start in the hot plates section. Edamame, edamame dumplings, and chicken sate are all very good. We always get the edamame at the least for small hot plates. Cold small plates are generally in the salad genre. I try not to fill up here, however the Rigo tuna tartare is pretty good if you like that sort of thing. On to the fun part… the rolls! Teak makes great sushi rolls! I have not had a bad one yet. I love the standard spicy tuna rolls and vegetable rolls (I like to call these fake sushi), but out of the signature rolls, the ones that stand out to me are the black mamba and red bank spicy tuna. They are delicious. I don’t think you can go wrong on any of the rolls on the menu! I love drunken noodles so much that I love getting them at Teak. My only issue here is sometimes they are inconsistent and do not have the flavors that I love so much in this dish. I can only attribute this to possibly a different chef working those nights that it tasted off to me. When they are good, they are so good. We like the pad thai here as well, and the soy braised short rib is out of control good.
The whole place gives off a trendy vibe. The dining area is sleek, nothing too special, but just enough to make you feel good. It looks like they are working on opening a rooftop which will be a great addition to Teak and Red Bank as a whole.
Customer service is good as well. Servers are attentive and service is fairly fast. I love the half off Mondays. I really should utilize it more. It is half off your whole bill! Make sure you tip your server on the whole bill though because they deserve it.
Teak is a Red Bank must, and no matter what opens up in this town, it will always be one of my favorites. Cheers to Teak!
